Supported Living Bank Support Workers

Pay is £9.60 per hour, plus £35 per night sleep-in allowance and a mileage allowance for using your own car with people we support. Owing to the nature of this work, you must have a full driving licence and be willing to use your own vehicle.

We are seeking Support Workers to join our bank in the Supported Living service.

Experience is not essential, it is your core values which are important to us and the people we support.

Supported Living Manager – Buckfastleigh

Join our fantastic team at Camphill Devon. We are a local charity, specialising in supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. We are registered with CQC to provide residential care as well as a Supported Living service and have an exciting opportunity for a Supported Living Manager to join the Management Team to manage our provision in and around Buckfastleigh. The team currently supports 14 regular clients, grouped within just two locations. Some people require relatively short support sessions, and others, require continuous support within a shared living setting. It is important to the people being supported, that their team are consistent, know them well, and understand their needs. To ensure this, Camphill Devon’s Supported Living Service is not an agency, and all our team are contracted employees. This role is a management position, although occasional delivery of direct support may be required.

We require a manager with strong experience in leading a busy care team. They must have excellent knowledge of CQC regulations and a clear passion for providing exceptional personalised support to the clients. The manager will lead the staffing team, making sure the team is fully engaged and that their training is kept up to date. There is opportunity to expand the service further and the potential of developing a Transition Service.

Supported Living Manager vacancy details:

Supported Living Manager requirements:

  • NVQ 3/Diploma Level 3 in care or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with people with a learning disability
  • Good understanding of welfare benefits and completing applications for benefits
  • Good IT skills and experience of using Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Ability to provide, where necessary, direct care and support to people we support in their own homes ensuring practice remains person centred at all times
  • Be the on-call person for supported living
  • To participate within the Responsible Person sleep-in rota
  • Clean driving licences and access to own vehicle

Residential Services Manager

The Residential Services Manager (RSM) is responsible for the operations and development of one or more houses on the Hapstead Village site. They are accountable for ensuring that all aspects in the day-to-day running of their allocated houses, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and regulations are met. The RSM will promote a person-centred environment which meets the wellbeing and development needs of the people we support. The RSM will also provide support and leadership to staff and volunteers in addition to being an active member of the management team and Camphill Devon Community.

Duties including but not limited to:

  • To manage and lead the residential service ensuring compliance, safety and a quality living environment
  • To support adults with learning disabilities in all aspects of their home life and involvement in the activities they choose
  • Enable people to identify and influence their support needs and progress their chosen aims and goals
  • To support and actively work within our values in all aspects of your role
  • To oversee and structure daily activities and provide support and guidance to the team
  • To provide ‘hands on’ support where necessary with all aspects of daily living, social and household activities

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. To be responsible for the safety and welfare of those living and working in the houses
  2. To co-ordinate the daily living arrangements and to ensure that all aspects of the care/support provided in the houses comply with CQC’s Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs), and to Health and Safety requirements
  3. To be responsible for the management of house budgets and finances and, as appropriate, to assist the people in handling of their money
  4. To promote people’s involvement in decision-making and to ensure that individuals’ needs are met within a person-centred environment
  5. To support people to enable them to participate in work, education and leisure facilities both at Hapstead and in the wider community
  6. To carry out activities to maximise occupancy and appropriate fee levels
  7. To support, coach, train, supervise and appraise team members, promoting their personal and professional development
  8. To identify and ensure that training needs of staff and volunteers are met in line with the Care Certificate and Camphill Devon’s requirements
  9. To contribute to the development of and work within all Camphill Devon Community policies and procedures
  10. To participate in the Responsible Person sleep-in rota, and undertake sleep-in duties within the house as required
  11. Promote safety, welfare and quality of life.
  12. Comply with support and supervision requirements of the staff team
  13. Service Management and Development of the company
  14. Administration and Financial Record-Keeping
  15. To undertake training as required by legislation, job role and Camphill Devon
  16. Ensure staff and volunteers receive Care Certificate training as required

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per year, depending upon experience

Senior Support Worker (Residential)

Ref. RSSW02: Full time 40 hours per week

£21,000 per annum plus an allowance for sleep-ins

We are seeking an individual for a new position of Senior Support Worker. Owing to the support needs of the people we support, we are looking to recruit a male candidate to work in an all-male household.

Do you have experience of working with adults with a learning disability?

Are you a dynamic person committed to ensuring the people we support receive person-centred support in a way that reflects our vision and values and our support standards?

You will be required to work closely with the Registered Service Manager to oversee and structure daily activities in the house and provide support and guidance to the team.

You must be computer literate with skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.

The post also includes sleeping-in duties, undertaking the Responsible Person role for the site (on average 2 per month) for which an additional allowance is paid.
